Pedal Pittsburgh 2021 Stage 4

Summary

A recounting of my experiences riding the stages of Pedal Pittsburgh 
2021.  Stage 4 was from Deep Creek Lake to Ohiopyle, PA.
It rained off and on during this stage and I chose not to ride the
route due to sheer caution. I did ride an 11 mile segment along the
trail from Convergence, PA to Ohiopyle, PA.

Pedal Pittsburgh Stage Four: July 8, 2021

I woke up in the morning went outside and noted the ground was
wet and the cars had raindrops on the windshields. Due to the my
problems with my leg and efforts exerted over the last 3 day I told
Phil that I did not want to ride the route.
I ended up riding with Phil in his car with my bike on the rack.
We follkowed the route and the rain came and went. By the time we
got to Convergence, PA I learned that there was an 11 mile gravel 
trail that followed the River going north to Ohiopyle.

I put on my rain jacket and rode the trail. As it turned out it 
rained more heavily while I was on the trail, so I got a coating
of whitish wet dirt on my bike and my body. The ride was uneventful,
and I saw several groups of riders going south during my trip.

Upon arriving at Ohiopyle, I found the Laurel house I was to stay at. 
I then rode to the area by the river that had restaurants and 
ended up seeing Drew, Edgar and Laura as they were arriving 
from their ride. 

We had something to eat outside under an umbrella. I rode back to the
house, used a hose to wash off the dirt from my bike and then took a
shower. Rosemary arrived and I was glad to see she made the trip
safely from Columbia. We went to a local carry out reastaurant and
got some Italian food that we ate back at the Laurel house.
